Despite having one of the most annoying audiences/laugh tracks in sitcom history, it still ruled.
Anyone else remember it?
I avoided that show like the plague!
ChItiNa ApPLeBeE!! sWeeT ChARitY!
Nope, no one remembers, we've all had a mind enema of the nineties...

Remember it?!!?
Who could forget it?
It only runs on the FX cable network about 400 times a day.
Remember the controversy surrounding it when it first aired? Actually I don't (since I was just a tot), but I saw the E! True Hollywood Story segment a few years back. Apparently, some rich housewife mother campaigned to get it banned or something to that regard. This is all I have to say: If you don't like it, change the channel or monitor your children's television programs. I, for one, enjoyed this show. It always had me in stitches, especially Peg Bundy. GO Katey!

Having recently caught a rerun of "Eight Simple Rules..." I must here state that Katey Sagall needs to be on Broadway in a musical. She has a great voice (she used to sing back-up for Bette Midler).
Does anyone remember the episode where Kelly is in Phantom?
I love the Christmas episodes especially
Al Bundy was such a great character. The series was simply funny & if it was not someone else cup of tea fine
Why would anyone NOT remember it - it wasn't exactly an obscure show.
And I thought it was very funny - of course, I was a teenage boy while it was on...
OK, I still find it funny.

We had this in the UK around 1988. It launched Britain's late night TV schedule along with a couple of other US and Australian imports. It was by far the best of the bunch and took a little getting used to because it was such a radical departure from the conventional sitcoms of that time.
As a new mother with a babe that only slept six out of twenty four hours these shows were a huge boon to me and replaced matchsticks for keeping my eyes open! Those were the days: - )
The one where Peggy and Al went on a gameshow, priceless...
is this where I say DUH!
It was a funny show. It brought shoe salesmen into a new light.
It hasn't been off that long. You are a very strange young man.
I never liked the show, but I remember the season when Peg was pregnant. Katey Segal had been trying to have a child and finally got pregnant. Then after they wrote the pregnancy into the storyline Katey had a late term miscarriage. It was very sad. They ended up making the whole pregnancy a dream.
i seem to remember hearing about this while i was at...the nuuuudie bar.
JG, I believe what Sagal suffered was actually a stillbirth - and it was her first pregnancy. It was very sad, and I felt for how difficult it must have been for her to return to the show after an entire season had been built around that pregnancy.
Yeah, Rath, I couldn't remember if it was an actualy stillbirth. It seemed it would be as she was so far along. I just remember that my heard broke for her.
