A woman I'm involved with lives about 45 minutes away from my college in a neighboring city. We see each other actually kind of semi-regularly, every other weekend or so. However, she is incredibly busy and I'm not really able to call her because of this. So, during the week, I really really really miss her.

However, during the weekend when she comes to visit, I feel as if the entire world has dissappeared pretty much and that I'm just existing with her. I honestly feel like my heart is going to explode in my chest because I love her so much.

The cynic in me is telling me that I feel that way about her because I don't hang out with her nearly enough to have any sort of arguements with her.

But I really really really hope that's not the case.

Anyone else in a similar long distance relationship?

My boyfriend of a year and a half lives about 90 minutes from me. He might as well be on the other side of the country, as he's in grad school. I get to talk to him on the phone about once a week. It sucks.

He and I used to go to different colleges in the same town, and even then it was hard to see each other. (He was a film major and I was a theatre major. I had rehearsals, and he was always either filming or crewing someone else's film.) Our first argument was about a year into our relationship (we were both working in a Shakespeare festival, so we saw each other more often than usual... and he was being an idiot).

Just keep sticking it out. If it's meant to work out, then it will. Make the effort to talk to her as much as you can. Communication is the most important thing when you're in a long-distance relationship.

Good luck.

I starred in a short film called Magnetic Personality. Check it out!

My relationship started out as a long distance one. We were about five hours apart, and only got to see each other about twice a month. It was a killer but somehow we made it work and I ended up moving to his city after six months. Five years later and we're still going strong.

Like FloweryFriend said if it's meant to be then it will work out just fine. A big disadvantage about being in a long distance relationship is that you don't get alot of time to work out the kinks, because every time that you see each other you're so excited and happy and don't want to waste any time that you do every thing that you can to avoid any disagreement. You don't truly know a person until you spend time with them on a daily basis and accept their flaws and imperfections.

My man and I didn't have our first "fight" until our first year into our relationship, after I had moved closer to him. So while having a long distance relationship is a huge strain on the heart, a plus is that you usually avoid the petty squabbles that are inevitable in a relationship.

Eh, I'm rambling on now. My point is to hang in there buddy. If it's meant to be then things will find a way to work themselves out.

i was in a 2 1/2 year long distance relationship with my boyfriend (who was a senior in HS when i was a frehsman in HS) and now Im a senior in high school. it was hard because he was all the way across the country... and i only saw him every few months. so when i did see him, i was on cloud 9.

You are half right. Those feelings are amplified because you dont see her as much, but at the same time, you must share something wonderful because you are still going strong. good for you!

some things are meant to be...
