Anyone know about music editing?

Anyone know about music editing?

Hello everyone,

I have a new mp3 of Alli Mauzey singing 'Screw Loose' and another one of her singing 'It's all in my head.'

The thing is that when they sing high notes or the volume of the music goes up, there's this very annoying sound, like a scratch.

I don't know much about music editing, but I've tried tweaking with some software but haven't been succesful to reduce the noise.

Is there anyone out there who could help me? I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you very much!

What type of software are you using? What I can think of doing is in those sections, check for volume peaks, and bring those down and up gradually to make it sound more natural. General rule of thumb with volume is that you never want it to be in the red zone when you put on your stereo or whatever you are using. That is bad and way too loud. Even yellow is a no no.

Thanks Marianne! You seem to be very savvy.

I'm using Goldwave.

*sigh*

I'll try, thanks!
