For the last 15 minutes there's the sound of a a zillion really loud motorcycles, and 42nd - 34th is closed? Is Obama in town or something?

Hundreds of motorcycles are driving up 42nd St, this happens a lot and I have no idea why. I'm watching out my window and it's loud as hell.

Me, too. At first I actuall y thought it sounded like an earthquake or something. I live on the 44th floor and it was deafening. Oh well, NY. Maybe a "security" drill or something....

Perhaps some sort of late-night prep for a 9/11 memorial event?

It happens a lot, where there is a big group of motorcycles that drive across 42nd St. I don't think it's just for 9/11

you're probably right, capn hook. i see that the new tower is lit up in red, white and blue. very nice.
