I really like the angle they are going but I have a feeling its not going to last with audiences...poor lisa she is so funny and so underappreciated.

I agree...It's not a hit with the critics...and it's actually kinda sad,as opposed to funny.

"Do you know what pledge time is, Andrew"? said the PBS Executive. "Yes", Lloyd Webber replied. "My 50th birthday special must be one program that gets done a lot." "No", mused the man from PBS heedlessy. "Not so much. Our Stephen Sondheim Carnegie Hall concert. That's a big one." Spoons, forks and knives seemed suddenly to suspend their motion in horror, all around the table.

I don't think I've ever been more uncomfortable while watching a show. I get the point of it and have always thought Lisa Kudrow's a good actress...but gaahhh, it's just painful to see someone desperately fall on their face all.the.time.

I watched it once - it is a good idea that is executed badly.

There's something about it that I love. Maybe because it's so original. Lisa Kudrow is definitely a comic gem. I like that it doesn't go for obvious laughs.

I just hope that if the show were to crash and burn, Lisa gets praise still for such a great performance. I'm praying Valerie loses it and reads everyone to filth and suddenly becomes a huge respected star for doing so or that her reality show is a hit---something along those lines. Something that puts her in control--and then all these jerks have to start groveling.

I enjoy it, but it needs layers. So far, it's just been the same joke over and over. I think it has potential, but the character needs a bit more humanity and less focus on the delusions.

I've been watching and kind of like it. The premise is very sad though.

Finally, Valerie Cherish actually spoke up. I was wondering if she was really clueless as to how people really perceive her.

I think the show is genius. I watched it all on On Demand and initially I had to stop after watching the first 2 episodes as I couldn't deal with how painful it was to watch, as well as being funny. Thinly veiled desperation is never pretty. But then I watched the rest of it all in one go and I love it.

I was discussing with Jerby that Valerie has unleash and it looks like that's happening. Last week's "fatty had a party" comments and her reaction at the end to the Navigator guy look like they will only be the beginning of La Cherish letting people know exactly what she thinks. This week's fantastic wordless moment at the end with her and Paulie G was perfect, and her explosion at the cast showed that she is no longer willing to lay down and take it. And good for her. Also I laughed for about 5 minutes at the end credit sequence. "I am cool, I'm just not a CRIMINAL."

I watched Sunday's episode and couldn't figure out if she had been set up by her fellow cast members or what. They show up to the set when they said they wouldn't; one of her cast members comes to her defense, yet no one told her of the change of plans.

I don't think she was set up, I just think the other 4 cast members are really young and naive. It will be fascinating to see what happens next week now that Paulie G is starting to realise that Valerie is not the person he thought she was.

Whoever that guy playing Paulie G is, he's doing a great job because I absolutely HATE him! I do like how things seem to be turning around a bit for Valerie. She may be annoying, but she's not a bad person. The last two episodes have really picked up. I loved the "Fatty's having a party" phone call.

I'm so happy she made that phone call the week before. What happened between her and Paulie G. in the office. I know I saw that part, but did something go over my head?

Well when she was explaining to Paulie G that she only stayed home because the kids were going to and about how much they hate the "beedy beedy" boys, it was clear that he didn't believe her. So when it all kicked off into a huge fight, after the fight was over, she and Paulie G exchanged a look that seemed clear he was starting to realise he had underestimated her.

Paulie G always treated Valerie like she was a has-been who knows nothing and his superior attitude during the meeting in the office was the same. But when the fight broke out immediately after the meeting, he suddenly realized that she was right all along. It was a HUGE triumph for Valerie. Not only did she burn Paulie G, but she also gained the respect of the young cast by sticking to her guns when they chickened out. That is why they came to her defense in the end. It was great!

It's kind of like this board when some people assume they know everything about you and make sweeping generalizations and then one day they suddenly realize you're not the stereotype they imagined you to be, but that you actually are an individual with independent thoughts and ideas that does not neatly fit into any specific categorized group. It's like that.

*raises roof*

Mister Matt & Popculture boy, thank you!! You're right, the actor portraying Paulie G. is really good, because I can't stand him as well. I didn't care of the beedy, beedy boys, too.

This show is getting soooooo good! Kudos to the creative team for taking their time and going against the grain with the way they have crafted this story and its characters.

And, it is a show that feels truly original.

Lisa Kudrow is an astounding actress.

I really enjoy this show - I agree that it definitely has it's uncomfortable moments, and bravo for that!

I was also very glad that I could see Lisa as someone else other than "Phoebe", who I loved on Friends. She is doing such a great job with this character.

I can't wait for something horrible to happen to Paulie G. Can't STAND HIM!!!

Well I think his comeuppance is on its way. He's going to have to eat some humble pie with Valerie, which should be fun to see.

someone else who loves this show! I think it is genius. Kudrow is so great at what she is doing. What is so hard to watch is that Valerie is not a bad person at all. All she does is try to be good. I love it. And now that Six Feet is ending, I have a new show to look forward to.

I watched a repeat of this weeks episode last night. It's amazing how much more I caught the second time around. Valerie's stepdaughter and her friend were hysterical, especially the one who is obsessed with Valerie's "hot" castmate (name escapes me).
