Thoughts? I'm pretty stoked about it!
I enjoyed the first episode. Looking forward to seeing what comes next
Me too - I was very pleasantly surprised, I hope it continues to be interesting. I actually forgot to watch it on Tuesday, I'm glad my son DVR'd it.

I enjoyed, though they have made it obvious Peter Gallagher won't be around for long by crediting him as "special guest star."

I just that think he's not going to be in every episode. The core of the show is Annie and her supervisor is Joan Campbell (Kari Matchett). Arthur Campbell is much higher up in the CIA so Annie probably wouldn't be seeing him much.
That's my take on it anyway.

There were some aspects that made me want to throw things at the TV, but the actors are good and I'm a sucker for a spy show, so I'm not going to judge this by the pilot alone. I look forward to more of the really fun spy stuff - the pilot was at its best when Annie was improvising fingerprint fraud or having a ball in her call girl guise.
OK, last night's episode was just OK for me.......but next week's looks very promising.
Piper Perabo Injured on 'Covert Affairs' Set
Why would I not like it? You've got a hot chick in the lead role who's a polyglot and who can kick major bad guy butt.
Seriously, it's ok. Most of the action scenes seem realistic (for TV). However, I never sense that the lead character is in any real danger and the requisite unrequited love affair with a fellow operative has yet to emerge (or perhaps it has). I wanted to see how it compared to that network's now defunct series La Femme Nikita starring Peta Wilson. Compared to La Femme Nikita, CA's writing's a bit anemic but so far the series has been entertaining.
The show is average. I mainly watch for Christopher Gorham/Auggie.
