I watched Boston Legal off and on in the first two seasons before becoming hopelessly addicted in its third season, and I have been since. Three of my friends and I make a date of it Monday nights, cheering and laughing along with Alan, Denny and Shirley while swigging scotch and praying to be rich enough after college to purchase those great outdoor seats.
To me, "Boston Legal" is a phenomenal, important show that dares to go places where no other dramatic show (cable or no) go on a week to week basis. Whatever your political views (and really, it helps if you are a Democrat), you have to admire a show that wears its opinions and heart on its sleeve so freely, and to not only address issues like abortion, rape, politics and more, but have opinions on them. It earned all those Emmys, and the fact it never won for best show is a damn shame (maybe this year?).
People say that the show skews too old and does not speak to a younger audience but, as a 23 year old writer, it speaks to me more than any other show on TV. Our generation NEEDS shows like this, and I'll miss this great/fun/quirky/emotional/beautiful/sensational/hilarious show.

I will be watching, especially since it will probably be last episode of the series as hinted at by the characters in a number of episodes this season.
Yup, series finale. David E. Kelly is moving on to NBC to create another courtroom drama.
*sniff*
To me, this is the best show on tv right now and i am SO sad it is ending

Alan and Denny are the best love story on television. You bet I'll be watching.
I'll watch it -- I love the show and the great characters. It's a shame that it's ending, it really is one of the few intelligent shows on TV. I'll miss Denny and Allen!
Let's not forget the brilliant bit underrated Christian Clemenson. pop! pop! pop!

Remember crazy client and Shirley Schmidt kidnapper Lincoln Meyer?

He was one of the BEST villains in any David Kelly show - right up there with George - the guy who dressed like a nun - on The Practice and the one played by Michael Emerson (now on Lost).
I still do impressions of him sometimes :)

Which sums up Robert Taylor in a nutshell.

GEORGE! Head-in-a-bowling-bag, Ellenor-stalking George! That was the best season of The Practice, ever.
But, yes, Lincoln Meyer is up there. Along with John Larroquette as the brilliant lawyer who kept getting away with murder. It freaked me out when he appeared on Boston Legal as a different character, because it's a spinoff of The Practice!
I'd actually forgotten that he was on The Practice first!
Anyone remember who Michael Emerson played? I remember he was VERY creepy and even won an Emmy, but can't really remember the character...
As far as favorite villains go, we can't forget Megan Mullally as the scorned bride who killed her husband before running through the courthouse in a bloody wedding gown.
Concerning the finale, I thought it was about as perfect as it could be. Every storyline got the proper amount of time it should have, and we got our happy endings. Allan and Denny got married and lived happily ever after (with Denny's experimental drug to boot), as did Carl and Shirley, and Hands ended up getting the girl. I sat there the entire show with a grin on my face, and what else could you ask for?

That was the PERFECT ending for the series. One of the best finales I think I've ever seen.
So sad to see the show go!
I watched the finale, and it was the only episode of Boston Legal I've ever watched and i loved it. The scene on the balcony before when spade agreed to marry shatner where David Kelly basically ripped ABC apart ("this should be a tv series. On another network. One that cares.) that entire exchange was hilarious.

It was a solid episode and a fitting ending.
Married by Antonin Scalia. Go figure.
