I just wonder how effective this will truly be for the Bush team. It is Bush preaching to the choir. I can understand not wanting hecklers in there, but I understand that lots if undecideds are turned away from Bush and Cheney speeches. This can't be a good thing. But, ultimately, I guess they know what they are doing. Or do they?

Iflit! That is just UNBELIEVABLE! No, it's true. It doesn't matter if the President can speak well or be educated enough to answer such questions. It's also not important for our image in the world or certain decisions being made.

All I know is I knew what sovereign tribes were before but I'm confused now. Also I remember him snubbing the NAACP, and was like wait, your snubbing people that you have to convince to vote for you. Take your lumps, thats the difference, I was in Vegas last week when Kerry went to Nevada, and I didn't see anyone shutting them up at the entrance to UNLV, although I may have made a rude comment when I walked by them.

Kerry puts up with hecklers...and it can't be fun, but every presidential election I can remember (and I'm pretty old) that has been part of the territory - you go on the road to meet the people and some are nice and some aren't.

WHY is George exempt from this? Would it hurt his widdle feewings?

simple, marc. indian tribes have been and continue to be soveriegn entities classified by the federal government as "domestic dependent nations" as this doj web page explains. i didn't get what all the fuss was about to begin with when i first heard about this and i still don't get it. i would be interested to see where he went with his answer after the film cuts out, though. ahh, if he'd only looked at him after the first part of his answer and just said, "duh!"

Hecklers are screened, and now we also know that the FBI -- stretched thin to search for Al Q terrorist cells on our soil -- are knocking on the doors of college students and demanding to know their demonstraton plans at the NY Republican convention. (I wonder if they're calling on the Right-to-Lifers,the only group allowed near The Garden?) Big Hooha is watching you, and don't forget it. This from the Administration planting seeds of freedom in Arab soil.

Just watching him speak, it was obvious the man didn't know what he was talking about. The audience knew it too, they laughed at him.

How sad we have a president who can't think and who takes pride in not reading.

it is very clear that on many occasions bush has no idea what he is talking about when he is "answering" a question. his supporters just prefer to overlook this fact because who wants to admit to themselves that they are supporting an idiot for the presidencey? Updated On: 8/17/04 at 02:28 PM
