You know, I'd rather see reruns of of THE PRICE IS RIGHT from the many decades that Bob Barker has been with the show than to have Drew Carey as host.

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

I've never cared for Drew Carey, which is why "The Price is Right" is no longer on my radar.

Not a fan of the show anymore now that Drew has take over. I just don't think that he is funny or even remotely entertaining on the show. I also always feel like he is very uncomfortable. Thats just me though!

Doesn't the Game Show Network air re-runs of it?

While I would love to have Bob Barker back, and it was always so cool to have a day off and see Bob Barker still doing the show, I dont think Drew Carey has been bad. He has such a different style of humor--the way he makes fun of the frat boys, and he has that self-depracating humor as well. And the fact that the still uses that ridiculous long think microphone makes him cool too.

I caught the last 10 minutes last night as I was waiting for Num3ers. I was struck by Carey's lack of energy. Maybe he was just low-key at the end but I hope he wasn't in the same mode throughout the show.

He is horrid. You can tell if the contestant has won or not before the "reveal" because of the tone in Drew's voice. He's awkward and just not right for this show in the least.

I would love to see what Rosie would have done.

Bluemoon, are you talking about the million dollar spectacular? I watched about half of it and he quite obviously had a bad cold or something. You could hear it in his voice, so that may have accounted for it. I agree that he's certainly much more laid-back and less charismatic than Bob Barker, but he is very likable.

Yes, the special edition last night. Like I said, I only saw the last 10 minutes, but I kept thinking, "Someone's about to win over a million dollars and he's veeeery cool and placid about the whole thing." Howie Mandel he's not.

I thought he was awful and I only saw a few seconds.
