So, in a month I am auditioning for my highschool's Theatre Workshop class and we're required to have one show tune and one monologue. I'm not worried about my song, but the monologue is another story.
Does anyone know of some really good audition monologues? Any and all help is appriciated!

The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man in the Moon Marigolds has a couple great ones for each sister.

"We don't value the lily less for not being made of flint and built to last. Life's bounty is in it's flow, later is too late. Where is the song when it's been sung, the dance when it's been danced? It's only we humans who want to own the future too." - Tom Stoppard, Shipwreck

Man in the Moon Marigolds also has one for an utterly insufferable science fair competitor. She is the kind of person we all love to hate.

The role has only one scene and its a monologue, but you can really go to town on it.

By the end of it we know everything we need to know about this little skunk.

"gamma rays" monologues are starting to get really overdone

I think maybe for something within a highschool like this it shouldn'y be such a big problem, unless the program is really serious and many will be auditioning.

oh that's true, sorry -- i just assumed it was a college audition because that's what people are usually asking about!!

"gamma rays" would be fine, good luck!
