Audition Song Question.#0

Posted: 9/19/04 at 3:39pm

Okay, say for example, for an audition you wanted to sing "If You Got It, Flaunt It" from THE PRODUCERS. Would you have to use the Swedish accent, or would that be optional?

Sorry for asking kind of an ignorant question. I am but a child.

It would be up to you. When taken out of the context of the show, the meaning of the song can change.

Probably not, just dont sing the "Ven I vas just a litle girl in Sweden" verse, there's no reason why you'd need the accent unless you desperately wanted it for comedic effect.

Yeah, if you were to use a swedish accent during an audition, it probably won't get you the part you want.

Unless you were wpecifically auditioning for the role of Ulla (or another similarly buxom and comic Nordic role), it would make no sense whatsoever to impose a Swedish accent on the song.

Okay. I was just contemplating.
