Audition song for 3penny Opera

I'm at a loss. Usually I have no problems with finding audition pieces, but this one is tricky.

My range is mezzo-soprano, my tone is very clear and natural. I'd more than likely be going for Polly Peachum or the ensemble.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I would recommend another Kurt Weill song. Polly is meant to be a sop, so would show a G below top C in your audition song.
How about "One life to live" from Lady in the dark or "My ship" from the same show? Also "What good would the moon be" from Street Scene. Also "Mr Right" from Love Life and check out Venus' songs from One touch of Venus.

Thank you very, very much! (:

I'm going to check all of those out and see which one works best.

Rather than an "American Weill" song, look at his other "German Weill" songs. (Threepenny is from the German period.) Something from Happy End perhaps.

He really was two different composers.

Thanks!

I forgot all about Happy End.
