I'm auditioning for a new "contemporary/pop" musical in a few weeks and need some suggestions for audition pieces. I'm trying to avoid Jason Robert Brown if possible since he's done a lot, but if anyone has any suggestions as to good pop-ish musical theater songs for baritones, I'd appreciate them greatly = )
p.s. Is "I'll Be Here" from The Wild Party overdone? It's one of the ones I was considering.

AH! I feel totally dislexic. I thought the topic was Pop song for Musical audition....maybe I should get that checked out...
But!
Check out some songs from Closer Than Ever. "What Am I Doin' " is a great song.
(right triplethreat?)

Bonnie Rait is a personal favorite. But it really depends on your voice type. Only go for powerhouses if you can pull them off. By powerhouses I mean Aretha Franklin etc. What about Annie Lennox? "Walking on Broken Glass" is also a personal favorite
