bwaysinger- i have so many friends in financial crisis because they spend that 80% of their paycheck on rent. Then they wonder how I have a savings account and investments.
I pay around 20% of total income on rent, and yes, i could afford a nicer place in Manhattan, but I happen to like seeing my bank account grow (not to mention paying for voice/scene study/etc.).

Cheno, that's how I feel. And, as much as I'd like to move, unless my salary increases to a point where I can move to my desired neighborhood and not spend more than 25% of my paycheck (which I really am giving myself as a limit right now), it's just worth it to sit where I am and watch my savings grow even more.
