Since this is an off-topic board, I thought I'd share my unhappy experience with all of you.
I have a big screen TV which I purchased at Circuit City. I also purchased the warranty which was a good idea because I have had to have the repair people come over several times. However, they never seem to fix anything and I have to keep calling back again and again. The latest problem began in June. They scheduled an appointment for a weekday (of course)because they told me they don't do weekends. The date given was July 6th. On July 5th, they called to say the guy was sick and they rescheduled to July 15th, which was a Saturday so I guess they do weekends after all. On that day, he came over, looked at the TV and after 5 minutes he said he needed to get tech help and would call back. of course, no one called. After one week, I called the repair company. They did not call back. I called three more times and finally, today, they called back to say the ticket had been closed and would I please call the 800 # to start the process anew?
If I had it to do over again, I'd buy the TV elsewhere.
If you think that that is bad then never shop at Best Buy.
I solved the problem of "television breaking the day after warranty expires" by bringing my brother (6'4" and built like a football player) with me---he looks like he could snap the customer service person in in half.
The customer service guy told me he was sorry, but he couldn't do anything---I said I was sorry too, since I had my original receipt, all the warranty info, and 2 of the local news stations on speed dial (not to mention my brother, standing behid me looking menacing)
I got a new TV.

I've had very good experiences with Circuit City's repair service. I've had to have the computer guys come by to take care of a few minor glitches in my computer and they've not only been extremely efficient, they were cute, too!

Never used repair, but they installed Sirius in my car for next to nothing in a SNAP! (And ditton, he was cute too!)
I second Best Buy being the pits
