I hate this season, and I hate the interruption to our lives.
I'm waiting on a very important piece of mail, and I just walked past my Post Office (where I have a Post Box) and saw 3 signs announcing it is closed on the 25th and 26th, the 27th, 28th and 29th, and on the 1st. The first two and the last are fine and expected, but the rest...?!?!
So I won't be able to get this package until the 2nd, or later..And I'm fairly sure that it's probably already arrived, considering it was sent a week ago...
Don't you just hate this season? It's just an excuse for gross consumerism and over-indulgence...
And I was brought up in a Christian household...
If I feel alienated and uncomfortable with this holiday, then I can only guess how awful it could be to those who subscribe to a different, or no, religion...
Who else can't wait until the 2nd of January?! (And I'm aware that New Years is not linked to Christmas, but it's irritating me nonetheless!)
'Tis the season to be jolly!
Incidentally, there exist a couple of personal vendettas within my family at the moment, so it will make for an interesting Christmas. I'm just planning on not attending altogether.

I think the season is way overhyped and tends to make people more depressed or feel inadequate, because they don't have a Norman Rockwell experience. Like everyone is supposed to have friends and families celebrating, presents under the tree, joy, eggnog, singing carols, etc. Who can live up to that, when half of this country come from broken homes?
I LOVES CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!
YAYS FOR CHRISTMAS!!!!! :)
It's in the singing of a street corner choir
It's going home and getting warm by the fire
It's true
Wherever you find love
It feels like Christmas
A cup of kindness that we share with another
A sweet reunion with a friend or a brother
In all the places you find love
It feels like Christmas
It is the season of the heart
A special time of caring
The ways of love made clear
It is the season of the sprit
The message if we hear it
Is make it last all year
Tis the season to be jolly etc etc
Merry Christmas
I actually love Christmas! But I understand completely why people might not.
Off to see The Color Purple & than maybe the Brooklyn Diner
Next week The Apple Tree & the Lincon Center tree. The problem is as you get older they come quicker & quicker
there are plenty of things that piss me off about this time of year, but I focus on the things I do like. no one can ruin the holiday for you but yourself.
Well said
Over the years, we have had bad experiences at Christmas. This year has been great as will however many Christmases the old boy has left in him will be
I am tired of my family, grumpy and hung over. I am cooking to take things to my grandmother's house tonight WHILE hungover. (Damn my brother for getting me drunk.) I am getting nothing but gift cards this year. I wouldn't trade it for anything.
