I don't think Kerrie's online!
Nerd, do it now. Then voting is closed and I'll change the thread title.
Done and done.
Oooh I'm here for results...
Alright. No point drawing this out. There's only two of you after all.
So, for those of you following at home, here's the sitch. The ranking (overall score yesterday, which, might I add, was heavily influenced by the votes more than our grades):
1. Spidey
2. jrb_actor
3. Ebonic_Singer
4. Kitzarina
5. (tied for bottom) WesternSky2 and Allie
While normally I don't post the ranks (maybe I'll mention the top voter if it's something really notable), I found it was worth posting this week, because it really goes to show you how anything can change on a dime.
Kitzy's here!
A few reasons why Kerrie and Allie tied for the end:
- Allie's been struggling in recent weeks, and even though she gave a great performance this week, people aren't too quick to forgive (look at 86 last week!)
- Kerrie chose a very challenging song but didn't quite give it the oomph needed for it to be effective
- Kerrie's been a front-runner for most of the competition, and maybe similar to the Reuben fiasco in Season 2 of The Ripoff Idol , people assumed she was safe and voted for their other favorites instead (the reason I think that shouldn't be the case is because we let you guys vote for two people so this sort of thing wouldn't happen!)
Things to work on, for whoever moves on this week:
Allie
You've got to continue trying songs that are outside of your comfort zone. People will notice and credit your effort! (It's worth noting that even though you were in the bottom this week, you received more votes than you have in previous ones.) Also make sure you choose songs that show off your range and complement you. I think this Alicia Keys song was one of your best, and it was more challenging than anything else you've tried. You sounded like you were having a good time and actually getting into it. Keep doing that.
Kerrie
I still give you props for doing a song that's one of the toughest to pull off, and I think you did it well. Just without the spirit and emotion that has made you so successful in previous rounds. Watch the vibrato (especially in the lower register). And make sure people don't forget to vote for you just because you're safe! (Well, that's not so much your responsibility as theirs, really.)
Okay, so the survivor is...

Ooh the suspense.
...
Bummer, I couldn't find a screencap of Tyra handing out the survivor's photo at the end.
So this'll have to do.
Congratulations, Kerrie. You're one step closer to becoming BroadwayWorld Idol.
I really am sorry, Allie. I thought you did great. And JFTR, you should NOT have been the one to go this week. (I've received more PMs and heard more feedback this week than any other about this week's results - not only because people were angry that Kerrie was in the bottom, but because they also did not believe you deserved to be out. So I'm sorry, and so are they.)
Yay Kerrie!
I imitate Tyra everytime she does that... "There are 8 beautiful girls standing in front of me, but today one of them will have to leave..."
