sorry not sure how to search for this topic. Is there a way to set your view so you see the LATEST responses to a thread first, not the original posting then the replies sequentially? thanks if you can help.

It's not really a formatting set-up, but if you click on the name in the 'Last Comment' box, instead of the thread title, it will bring you to the last page of thread.

Another 'glitch' to be aware of: don't use the 'next page' link to move from page to page. It doesn't work. Click on each page number at the bottom of the thread.

i guess that helps some. i find it interesting, HTML coding-wise, that when you click on "reply to this comment" the comments automatically are listed in reverse chronology below your typing window...but we can't opt for that in a Thread View. Pretty antiquated given other chat forums out there on the World Wide Net/Interweb....and that the coding does already exist on this site, just not where it might be more useful.

But thanks for the tip. i gave up on the whimsicality of "next" on here and the weird Search Engines long ago. They DID improve the Search Engine function some, though, so evolution IS possible.

ah, but thinking this through has offered me a solution with no HTML re-coding required.

a) Click on the hyperlink for that popular thread you want to keep up with
b) click on "reply to this comment" on the FIRST posting
c) read the comments in reverse chrono listed below if that's your pref
d) comment or don't in the handy window
