No, that is not a typo. Jams Brolin said it in a red carpet interview this evening that Barbra is considering the role of Ben Stiller's mother in the sequel to "Meet the Parents."
I would love to see that. She hasn't done a good comedy since "What's up Doc?

Well, I'm certain that Michael Sarrazin is underrated.

Oh, my mistake. I didn't realize "For Pete's Sake" was filmed after "What's Up Doc?" I thought after Doc the only comedies she did were "The Main Event" and "All Night Long."
I forgot Doc was in '72 and Pete was in '74. I mixed them up.
But after that, "The Mirror Has Two Faces" and "Funny Lady" are considered Romantic Comedy; but that's not the same as a regular comedy. SO I think "Meet the Fockers" would be great for her.

You know, I wonder if she could pull it off now. She MIGHT be hysterically funny in it ...or she could be REALLY bad.
My problem with the film is that I am physically repulsed by Ben Stiller.

OMG me too! The only reason I end up watching some of his other movies is because of the other actors in it, or if the story seems really good...usually it's the first reason since he doesn't exactly choose heart-warming material.

Posted: 1/26/04 at 10:28amIf only the left side of her face is allowed to be seen, and she's shot through gauze or a vaseline-coated lens, and insists on wearing fingernails and Donna Karen, and doing a Marilyn and Alan Bergman number for the final credits ("Is There An {In-}Law Against Love?") ... well, let's just say the comic potential might be a tad diluted.
