Back To Nature For Shavuot

My synagogue did a different twist for Shavuout this year. True, it is the celebration of when we recieved the 10 Commandments. My Rabbi taught us that those are a gift from G-d , but so is nature. We devoted the whole holiday to studying ways of honoring nature, preserving the environment snd also respecting it. For our Tikkun Leyl Shavuout { late night study session} we had different speakers from our congregation give talks on herbs in the bible, global warming, and recycling. But don't worry, we still had cheese cake!
