So Boobs is up and going to work in New York, and Shira still hasn't gone to sleep, and is wired on coffee and nerves and patiently waiting for her packing to finish by itself.
So for some reason, I feel that my fellow BWW Obessers would like to know why I may not be around for the next couple days. Okay, I know of 2 people who will miss me. But why PM them to say I'm leaving, when all of you can know!
Also, I saw Golda's Balcony tonight (last night? It was February 15, according to the ticket), and I enjoyed it. I couldn't understand her Israeli accent for some of the generals, but I thought it was marvelous as a history lesson and as a show within itself.
I'm really excited to go to Canada. There is real snow there. And lots of it. And I'm going to do something very exciting in the snow. I'm going to build a snowman! And have a real snowball fight. I've never done those, so here's a new experience!
So, my cast recordings have been loaded onto the iPod, and it may actually be time to go to sleep (in theory anyway), so I can get up in a couple hours and flap my wings!
If I have an internet connection in the house I'm staying at, I promise to take advantage of it!
I'll miss you all! *Kiss*Kiss*

I highly recommend making snow angels.
Have a safe journey, and we'll be waiting here when you return from the tundra.

Posted: 2/16/05 at 8:44amDGrant, I haven't made nearly enough snow angels yet this year! One time I tried but it was that snow that had a layer of ice on top and you'd have to be 300 pounds to be able to push through it!

Posted: 2/16/05 at 9:00amIt was funny in real life too! I was trying to press each invidiual body part into the snow to even make a dent. But then came the daunting task of the snow angel motion. I made it about two inches either way before I gave up- it hurt!

It really shouldn't hurt making angels! On the other hand, you could make some killer snowballs with that stuff

The one day I was all hyped up for a snowball fight, it was too powdery.
That's the thing about Canadian snow. There's so many different types that it's rare you'll actually get to do what you want with it!
I tried making a snowman with the powdery snow, but gave up, and just traced a 2-D outline of it in the snow with my feet and added all of the snowman accessories.
I'm trying!

Haven't left yet...
I'm going to New Brunswick. Never been there, but I hear it's pretty. And I'm bringing my camera!
SNOW ANGELS! I'm SO making one.
JID, what part of Canada are you in?

Woo, shira, I hope you have a good time! I'm in Nova Scotia, and definitely know all about Maritime winters! As of now, my place of residence has snow... but it's of the wet, muddy variety. It rained yesterday.
I hope it's still nice where you're headed in NB!!

Keep your chin up, there will be snow. The weather here has been so arbitary lately, it's actually REALLY mild for this time of year- we can thank global warming for that!
On Monday it was freezing rain (hence my car accident), yesterday it was just rainy and muddy, and today it's snowing.
I'm in southeastern Ontario, right on the lake. I'm 2.5 hours from both Toronto and Montreal and an hour from Ottawa, it's a great location for impromptu roadtrips!
The weather in my city is about as SH*Tty as it is in NS and NB- have fuuuuuun!

Safe trip Shira! Have fun in the snow.
Maybe it's a CA thing...and we don't have much practice at making snow angels, but last time I tried making one I swished my arms but forgot my legs...so no angel...it looked more like a snow moose!!

Hi GUYS!
So, I'm here in Woodstock (though I'm technically in Fredericton right now), New Brunswick, Canada. The place I'm staying in is in Woodstock, but we drove to her office in Fredericton.
So, here's an update thus far. I left LA, got to Cinicinnati, and flew to Bangor, Maine, wher my friend Wendy picked me up. From LA to Cincy, the woman behind me had a 9 week old English Bulldog who was too adorable, and we played for most of the airplane. Such a cute baby! Also, "Shall We Dance" was the inflight movie, for those who were wondering. J-LO bites, but there's dancing and saving graces Susan Sarandon and Stanley Tucci, so it works out. Also, there is dancing, so it's not a total waste of time.
Anyways, back to Canada. Or Maine, really. We drove the 1.5 hours to Woodstock, and there is NOTHING in that area but trees. Nothing. How do people live in rural aras of the upper Northeast?! I mean, it's pretty, but completely isolated. We crossed the border and got to her house, which is gorgeous. I basically have the entire bottom floor to myself, and it's nice and relaxing - It's a perfect place for vacation, right?
So I basically just showered and went to bed. Woke up 3.5 hours later so we could go to work, which is a 50 minute drive. Now here is what threw me. At 8:30-9:15 in the morning, which is, for all intents and purposes, rush hour, there were maybe a dozen cars on the road. A dozen? So logically, no traffic. I've never been so confused.
The snow is gorgeous. I mean gorgeous. I love it, and will definitely be taking lots of pictures of this place because it's so pretty. Of course I almost slipped already, but what do you expect? It's interesting because I consider myself more of a New Yorker in terms of personality and identity, where I belong, etc...but I feel VERY "Cali Girl" here. I mean, I'm so easily amused by the snow. We had the snow attack us on the drive into Canada. When we put the brights on, it looked like a scene from Star Wars, which I haven't seen, so I think it looks like a scene from Spaceballs ("Ludicrous Speed, GO!").
But I really like it here. Everyone is nice to me, and the dog (she has a dog named Zoe) and I bonded. So it's cool.
Alright kids, I'm here, and I'm safe and sound. I'll update you guys on my adventures here, because that way I'll have a little diary of my travels. Hope all is well!

More importantly, I love how 2 things happen while I'm in Canada:
1) My friend Liotte is going to Los Angeles today. She is leaving Tuesday night. I return Wedneday.
2) My friend Michelle is leaving for NYC for the first time...and I'm not there. Very sad.
Otherwise, I bought a pair of boots and I might have creme brulee...YAY!

So no creme brulee happened...I'm trying to be good!
After dinner, Wendy had her voice lesson (she did a C-high C octave jump, sounded gorgeous). And I slipped on ice bruised my knee and hit my shoulder - and I might go skiing tomrrow, who knows.
And I'm going to a Desperate Housewives panel or something-er-other at the Museum of Television and Radio - someone posted about it before. I'm SO excited about that!
So yes, hello! And I apologize for the updating, but this is my diary now!

Ouch! I've done that! Be careful! During the first snow here, I fell and did the splits completely down to the ground, front to back. It hurt for a week.
I'm glad you're having a wonderful in the Maritimes!! We really are a friendly people, no?

"I'm glad you're having a wonderful in the Maritimes!! We really are a friendly people, no?"
Wow! Now there is a different one. Is "no?" the new "eh?"
I absoluteley adore how Canadians often end their sentences with "eh?"

Hey, hey, I didn't mean anything by that!
And really, the only person I know who says 'eh' a lot is my grandfather, though I'm sure I've used it once or twice.
