Backfiring Insults

Anyone ever have bad experiences with insults that backfire?

At Christmas 2004 my older Brother was beating up on me (all in the name of good fun), and he hurt me. I, in anger, called him a "son of a bitch!"

Unfortunately, my mother heard, and they both beat me up for about another 5 minutes.

Who else suffers from a mouth that opens before you think?

Paradox, I would be more concerned with the physical abuse issues in your family than putting your foot in your mouth.

Any one of the number of 'your momma' insults my 12 year old brother has attempted to fling at me over the years..... until he remembers that my mother, is indeed HIS mother too.

Nobody said younger siblings were the brightest

I always do that. My parents HATE the fact that I curse. So they said that as long as I didn't curse in front of them... that they wouldn't do anything about it.

Well, unfortunatly, by the next day I was screaming "SH*T!" over and over again, a big thing from my dresser fell on my foot... luckily that was a warning.

But then, another time my dad made me really angry. My dog is my baby, and my Dad just pisses me off. So one day he starts feeding my dog uncooked chicken. When I'm telling him not to. So I just got so upset that I just slapped him right across the face. He didn't like that a lot...

I explained that I did it without thinking, but then he sent me to my room.

Not exactly backfiring response, more like action.

I do believe that good ole' sweetiedarlinmia woulda been nothing but a headstone and mulch, if I had done that. and justifiably so.

I don't know what to say to that. I could never hit my parents and have never had a desire to hit them. They have done A LOT to make me mad too. You do realize that raw meat is healthier for dogs than just about anything else you can give them right? Most people who feed their dogs raw meat based diets feed their dogs mostly raw chicken.

I didn't understand that at the time. But I apologized and said I would never do anything like that again.

I do feel terrible about it. I've never hit anybody in my life. I'm not really that type of a person. More like the kind to not have confrontation. Plus, I'm vastly afraid of my Mother. She says "1" I'm on the move. I fear punishment from her. Hence why I never back talk... or do anything wrong...

When I was a senior in HS I had to stay after to make up this gym class that I had missed, and the teacher was a giant asshole. He knew that my friends and I that were staying after to make it up were into theatre and automatically thought he was better and more of a "man" than we were, so he started saying really obnoxious **** so I finally walked over him and said "You know what? You can suck my c0ck you f*cked up asshole." Well, my mother didn't enjoy getting THAT phone call too much...

the beauty of my brother and I is that we are both adopted...so we have different mothers....so mom jokes work particularly well in our case....

These all make me flinch...It has actually happend to me thet I'm saying to a friend "Good, Mrs. Smith's class is so awful blah blah I hate her" while my friend has a look of horror on his face and then I turn around and see Mrs. Smith. Who gives me a dirtylook that I don't see because I've already run a quarter mile

I think most people have had an experience of talking about someone, only to have them overhear...

The Moral of the Story: Don't say anything if you can't cope with the consequences.
