Music is a powerful thing. Is there a song that has the power to turn a bad day into a good one for you? I just listened to those darned Brady Bunch kids sing "It's A Sunshine Day" and I couldn't help but laugh. My cubicle neighbors think I am a lunatic, but there's nothing wrong with that, is there?

I sing for myself. I sing when I want, whenever I want to, just for me. I sing for my own pleasure. Do you understand that?

There is nothing wrong with that AT ALL!

Crank up that volume, BT!

"Oh, the Thinks You Can Think!" from Seussical. It's so....cheerful!

"Walking On Sunshine" by Katrina and the Waves has that affect on me.

BT: It's a whole lot better than wallowing in the badness of the day, which is the tendency I have...

But I do perk up a bit should either of the two following songs come on:

"Can't Hurry Love" - The Supremes version
"Mama Said (There'll Be Days Like This) - The Shirelles

My favorite Bad Day song is "Here Comes The Sun" by the Beatles.

Keep It Gay is my bad day song. I can't help but laugh when Carmen starts singing that soprano part, during the "Whether it's Hamlet, Othello or Lear" line. Just thinking about it makes me giggle.

"Sunny days, sweeping the clouds away!"

"All I ask of you is one thing: please don't be cynical. I hate cynicism -- it's my least favorite quality and it doesn't lead anywhere. Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen." Conan O'Brien

That DON'T WORRY, BE HAPPY song has the ability to put me into an evil mood.

"Noah, someday we'll talk again. But there's things we'll never say. That sorrow deep inside you. It inside me, too. And it never go away. You be okay. You'll learn how to lose things..."

"Something Good" - Herman's Hermits
"Here Comes The Sun" - The Fab 4
"Daydream" - Lovin' Spoonful
"A Moment Like This" - Kelly Clarkson

amongst numerous others, I'm sure

"Applause begets applause in the theatre, as laughter begets laughter and tears beget tears." CLAYTON HAMILTON, "Theory of the Theatre" "I think theater ought to be theatrical ... you know, shuffling the pack in different ways so that it's -- there's always some kind of ambush involved in the experience. You're being ambushed by an unexpected word, or by an elephant falling out of the cupboard, whatever it is." TOM STOPPARD

I'm gonna be dating myself with this one cause I'll bet money that most of you don't remember this show or this movie.... but for me it's usually the theme song from the Banana Splits or Free To Be You and Me (from the movie by the same title)...

In fact, I think I have to go listen to it now lol
