Normally that would go to the Mets front office for trading away prospects for dreck. The prospects go on to have great careers elsewhere. The signing of Beltran is one that will come back to haunt them
Another boneheaded decision was signing Chad (No arm) Pennington to a long term megabucks deal that will come back to haunt them. The guy never had an arm but management somehow thought he was the next Joe Namath. Oy Vey

Manny Ramirez.
Sure, as a Sox fan, I love his production, but the man is a walking distraction. Plus, the $20 million the organization pays him is rediculous, to say the absolute least.

Please. Like the Sox could have found another hitter as good as Ramirez. Production is production.
As for the Yankees' bad signings, I have a few from this past winter- Jaret Wright, Kevin Brown, and Tony Womack are all standouts, and I don't mean that in a nice way.

To us in Cleveland there are no 'bad signings,' there's just Cleveland business as usual.
We drafted Tim Couch.
First.

Don't even start with me on how DePodesta screwed up my Dodgers: Don't sign Beltre, but sign JD Drew, an injury-prone mediocre player with no grit or heart, for the same money Beltre asked for? Trade away Paul LoDuca, Shawn Green, Dave Roberts . . . and then leave hug gaps at both first and third . . . Bring back the O'Mally family, please. Even Fox was better than these idiots.
What a long off-season this is going to be.
