Ooh, there was a Pride and Prejudice movie that come out in like 2004 I think. Took the story and set it in modern times, but not like the creativity of Bridget Jones. Everything in the story was the same except it took place in modern times. I had to turn it off after a couple minutes...ick.

I agree with you, Rose_MacShane. I didn't hate the movie, but the book was vastly superior. It's exactly like you say; the book is full of silences, nuances. This is especially true of Juliane Moore's character. At the end, the movie gives her this longwinded speech - as if somehow there was a need to justify her actions, or show of Julianne Moore's acting skills. Yet in the book, all we get is a description. Her motives remain uncertain. She never speaks her mind, or cries, or offers any satisfactory explanation. And that makes for FAR more interesting storytelling.

I honestly think "To Kill a Mockingbird" is as good, if not better, as the book.

I've never seen "To Kill a Mockingbird", though I have heard it's very good. I have read the book though and loved it.
