I haven't seen the show, but I have the CD and read the synopsis. I'm annoyed that they left out the major secret. What is the big secret?!? Is Bat Boy her brother? Someone just tell me, I'm annoyed not knowing.

Bat Boy and Shelley are brother and sister in a way. Meridith was raped by bats and gave birth to Shelley and Bat Boy at the same time. It sounds really weird when you explain it to someone, but if you see the show or read the script it makes sense.

I played Bat Boy last December and our audience loved when Meredith screams "No, Edward I'm your mother!!!"

You can hear the wheels in their heads turning...and then a mass "...uhhhhhh..." which segues quite nicely into "Apology to a Cow". The most work my chords have EVER gotten. Esp. because in one night we had a 7pm and an 11pm show.

Right?

dude, i am dr. parker right now. it is my favorite show. well, maybe not my favorite. but i love how it seems to diverge from the beaten path.

I was Shelley last summer, people always laughed when Meredith says "Edgar, I'm your mother." This possibly be because We didn't make it abundantly clear Shelley and Bat Boy had sex, (I was only 15 at the time and having me get partially clothed onstage didn't appeal to the director) even though anyone with half a brain could've figured it out.

Anyway, you really gotta see the show to get the full effect.

Am I cut out to spend my time this way?

Haha, our "Children, Children" scene was the hottest/funniest thing I have witnessed ever on stage. Shelley and I had our time "under the sheet" so the audience got the drift..I mean..when the bird and elephant, bee and bear, and lion and goat had sex...they got the point...
