From a Facebook friend, also a San Franciscan, "WHAT AN EXTREME WADTE OF OUR TAX DOLLARS!!!!! Not to mention all the donated money that could be used to really help children. Think if the thousands and thousands of dollars being spent on one child vs helping many children. It's selfish, greedy and just another foolish wasteful publicity stunt."

The misspelling is hers. The comments are pro BatKid. Her husband finally stepped in to defend her.

This has got the most incredible thing that lifted my spirits in such a long time! I think everyone (well except a few, who decided to use this as a political attack on those serving in office or the waste of taxpayer's money) has been so touched by this.. Seriously, if my taxes were making me feel this good every day, April 15th would be a holiday like Christmas!
Who among us do not share in the wonder and magic Miles experienced today?

It does set the bar. However, they have been getting an incredible amount of donations to their
cause because of this. This story has gone World Wide.
I just made a puppet last season, of Bill Hader's Anthony character from the Seth McFarlaine "puppet Class" sketch for a kid whose Make A Wish Foundation wish was to visit SNL and meet Bill Hader. Bill presented the kid with the puppet "Anthony". It was a truly wonderful experience for all involved.

Make a Wish is an amazing organization, and props to everyone for making wishes come true.

Right, Jungle. That's very true. That is what I meant by precedent. I cannot imagine every single Make A Wish chapter and other cities going this full out, and I'm sure some terribly spoiled and selfish parents (not the kids) will find grievance with THEIR sick child not getting an entire 'adventure' like this one. That's all. But so very happy that the California chapter, through the City of San Fran, could make this happen!
