"...Beast" Audition Help

Hello!
So I just found out that my school is doing "Beauty and the Beast" for our fall musical. So excited! But now I have the tough decision on deciding if I want to go for Gaston or the Beast. Anybody have an opinion on which part's a more meaty part to play? It's my last year and I really want to go out with a bang. THANK YOU!

I just closed BATB, today was strike. I asked this same question to my self and hear is how i figured it. I played the beast this time and i was Gaston in Beauty and the Beast last summer somewhere else.

Beast:

You get more lines and songs but have to deal with a lot of costumes and makeup and kids screaming when seen.

Gaston:

A little less lines your not the the title character, but you have a chorus number.


Having played both, I personally liked the beast more.

I think Gaston has better music and acting. And more fun and memorable too, even if it is called Beauty and the Beast...
