I was Belle in the blue dress when I was younger and my mom made me the costume, though there wasnt a pattern directly for it. What you do is you wear a white button down man tailored, find a pattern for a long jumper and get a white apron. Just find fabric to match

Thing is nobody in my family can really sew. Even if I got a pattern, we couldn't sew it. I stopped paying attention in Life Skills 2 (middle school clss where we learned some sewing) when the teacher yelled at me or chewing gum and embaressed me, even though i didn't even have gum. Wow, bad move on my part. I never thought that would come back to me. Thanks so much for the idea though!! I may be able to use parts of it. How did you do your hair?

I didnt do anything special with my hair, just pulled it back in a low ponytail and wore a blue ribbon. A topsy-turvy ponytail could look nice, too.

Check various Halloween stores that pop up this time of year.

Maybe even go to like a dress shop, give them a picture, and see if they have anything. Looking at the picture of the Broadway Belle, you may not be able to get something that fancy, but you might be able to get a simple blue sleeveless dress a la the movie. Good luck finding one!

PS. I'm also dressing Broadway-style. My girlfriend is being the Wicked Witch (Elphie), and I am going to be the Wizard (we are going to see a friend's show after our party, so Wizard wear would be easier to go somewhere in as opposed to Fiyero lol. Plus, if we were Elphie and Fiyero, itd be to cutesy lol)

Thanks for the ideas guys. My dad has been telling me that all they used to sell was the blue dress and now it's all the yellow gown (which is usually cheap looking). Very dissapointing... I love the Broadway costume so much. I've actually seen a few up close and the detail is so beautiful. Some day I wanna be Belle on Broadway but for now it's halloween. I found one website that makes the costume and I e-mailed and called about custom sizing and nobody answered the call, nor wrote back to my e-mail. Way to run a buisness, right? I wish I were crafty and could really work some of the suggestions I'm getting.

If you have a Hancock or JoAnn's Fabrics close by, you can get the name of a seamstress through them. They always have list of people who sew, and what their speciality is. I'm sure they would know of somebody that could make you the costume. If you don't have those fabrics stores, just check with whatever fabric store you have.

I was just on ebay and noticed that they have a huge selection of halloween costumes. I did i quick search, which came up with 2 of the yellow belle dresses...i know that's not exactly what you want...but anyway, I thought maybe if you searched ebay further you could come up with something!
