If anyone has missed this rare part of the Crawford legend -- La Joan in dark tights and a sleek blonde fall as a ring master/mistress (whatever) named "Miss Rivers" -- now's your chance. It's being revived on the Mystery channel (155 on Comcast). Ty Hardin and Diana Dors (I think) are her nominal costars. She flounces around her own vivid circus trailor (framed pix of clowns!) in white nylon nightie, hobnobbing with circus dwarfs, a bearded lady, and quite a cast of scenry chewing (literally) extras.

Poor Joan. All she wanted to do was act. From porn star to box office poison to drag queen icon to Mommie Dearest she was just a girl with a dream.

If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

Straight-Jacket was a hoot. Trog, one of her last films, is a must see, a TRUE horror classic! Trog would make Ed Wood proud. Joan plays a scientist and shares the picture with a teensy actor in a cheap gorilla/monster suit. She looks drunk through much of it (she was, apparantly.)

Berserk is supposed to be soming out on DVD...at least according to Netflix but the release date hasn't been set yet.
Straight Jacket was a wonderful film because it was so bad. I especially love how they had Joan at about 60 years old trying to play 30 years younger in the flashback scenes. She looked like a horrible drag queen version of herself. The extras on the DVD include a tribute to Joan with interviews from her SJ co-stars and crew. The number of back handed compliments is amazing.

I'm convinced that Joan personally bought and destroyed every copy of Trog that was ever in existance.
