I like Running Rabbit black licorice (licorice is good for you) but it is very expensive...
Anyone know where you can get some of the real McCoy licorice, not waxy old twizzlers, in this town?
More the Dutch kind
Not all clogged with wheat
Really strong
And not too sweet?

Try Lilac Chocolates in Grand Central Station or in Greenwich Village. The black and red versions are delicious.

You mean Lilac still exists?
Wow, you've made my day!
I almost cried the last time I went to the Lortel and it was VAMOOSED!
I had my heart set on dark chocolate almond bark.
And now to know they have black licorice!
i like marquise's black licorice myself.
Please note they are no longer on Christopher Street. Their new address is:
40 Eighth Avenue
New York, NY 10014
(Where Eighth Ave. meets Jane Street)

I must make a pilgrimage to the new location of Lilac Chocolatier.
Maybe I'll be going to the Jane St. Theatre sometime...
I was at Whole Foods this evening but I wasn't going to wait in that line just for my Running Rabbit overpriced licorice!
