Guess what, folks--some of the great foreign films that you would think would be nominated in this category are NOT eligible for this category:

Bad Education
The Motorcycle Diaries
A Very Long Engagment

The nominees will likely be 5 of these 6:

House of Flying Daggers (China)
The Sea Inside (Spain)
The Keys to the House (Italy)
Campfire (Israel)
The Five Obstructions (Denmark)
The Chorus (France)

Well A Very Long Engagement is definitely eligible for Best Film, so does this mean Bad Education and Motorcycle Diaries are too? I hope so, not that any of them stand a hope in hell of getting a nomination anyway. But still.
