Describe the best rehearsal you ever had.

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Doesn't exist? It should!

There are bad days, yes, but that is why we have rehearsal. To get better. To be at performance level. So the director can be sure the story is being told as he/she wants it to be.

For instance, today in rehearsal, it was good for a fellow actor. After the scene finished, the director was silent for many seconds which seemed like an eternity. Then, he finally said "Thank you. That is what I wanted all along." and then was speechless. Good day for her.

Another example, in a show I directed, everyone tried many new things to improve their performance. It made me very excited and overjoyed.

I work with the same group of people for 10 weeks doing 9 shows so the best rehearsal for us is the first, because it is when we get to meet each other and talk, and discuss ideas.

Best Rehearsal for me was last April. We were rehearsing for 'Cabaret' and I was in the ensemble but I was chosen to sing 'Tomorrow Belongs To Me' alone. Like, completely alone. SO I had been having a little trouble with the song, and although the rest of the song didn't sound bad, that one part was horrible. So we had our second dress rehearsal, and I got to sing my solo since we had a piano player that day. I went on the stage, and sang my song perfectly. I didn't believe it (and neither did everyone else). And then the whole band started clapping and the director and then my friend was waiting backstage and he gave me a huge hug.

The choice may have been mistaken, The choosing was not...
