My apartment mate makes an orgasmic pumpkin pie, and Rafaella's in the village has a fantastic Pumpkin Cognac Cheescake.

For Zabar's, it's about W. 80th St. and Broadway.

For me, --oops!

Here's the Zabar's website:

You might want to try Greenberg's bakery.
They do make the best chocolate chip cookies in the World.
I like tiny crispy cookies.
I don't understand why people like Pumpkin Pie.
Any other kind: Apple, Blueberry and Raspberry are DIVINE BUT PUMPKIN UGH!

brd, glad to hear they were delicious.

If you were in NYC I'd make your family a pumpkin pie, too. Well, I gather two or more are needed there.

I'm receiving PM requests for pies.

I made chocolate chip cookies yesterday. And all I can say is, never again, at least not without an electric mixer. My poor wrists.

But the cookies are good. :)

Plum, while in culinary and pastry school we often had to mix everything by hand, especially when whisking. It can be grueling for sure.

Corine, I'm not intested in that idea, but thanks for thinking of me.

The best thing about homemade pies is the added ingredient you don't find in storebaked pies...that extra pinch of love.

Rest in peace, Iflitifloat.

I am baking.

I am cooking.

Traditional Thanksgiving meal.

My sister and I always disliked Thanksgiving turkey cooked "Cuban style."

I prefer traditional myself. Thankfully we were not so Italian that we had pasta for Thanksgiving meals.

I'm going to a Thanksgiving dinner catered by my school. I'm kinda wondering what the English idea of a Thanksgiving dinner is. :)

I'm sure it will be based on a "traditional" menu, while not quite "home-cooked."

I once spent a Thanksgiving in Paris, and one could go to Fauchon and purchase everything to make the traditional meal.
Or one could to go to Joe Allen's.

Thanksgiving dinner is like McDonald's. It's all over.
