Big Disney Parks announcement in NY today...

Among the highlights:

-The new ad campaign, beginning in January 2011, will be called, "Let the Memories Begin," which will segue right into the 40th anniversary of Walt Disney World that begins in the fall of 2011.

- Updates on the re-theming of Disney California Adventure to the Hollywood of the 1930's.

-Update on Star Tours 2.0, which will reportedly provide a different experience each time, as there are a number of different "adventures" each trip will take.

-A quick update on the new Alaskan cruise and the new Hawaiian resort.

-They've created an online "hub" for guests to share their vacation memories and photos, and Disney will then use those photos and story in online, print, and television advertising (i.e. "be in a Disneyworld commercial!")

-Guest photos and videos from their "day in the parks" will be projected onto Cinderella Castle (in WDW) and It's a Small World (in DL) in a special show each night so guests can relive the memories they just made.

-The song for the campaign, "Let the Memories Begin" is sung by Montego Glover, a former Walt Disney World cast member. She performs the song around the 36 minute mark on the webcast linked below.

That press event was such a snorefest. I mean sure, the new campaign is pretty great, but that's it? No news about the changes in the Fantasyland Forest project? Nothing further about the Art of Animation Resort, DLP or DCA? I guess I expected too much.

It, was for the most, a snoozefest all right. As usual, WDW got shafted in the press conference, barely ever being mentioned by name. Their run as the ugly stepchild continues...

Well thanks for posting the highlights, adamgreer

I must confess to hoping for something more based on the thread title though.
