I guess it makes sense for him to be adapting a book written by a Mormon...

I still remember this story about at one of the Dreamgirls premieres, he threw a total hissy fit because they wouldn't just start the movie without a few speeches. He wanted to just have it START, just like the stage show would, and he was all pissy when he didn't get his way.
If he'd wanted it to be more like the stage show perhaps he shouldn't have excised half the score.
