"Birdie" Audition Question

A friend is auditioning to get into a big summer musical theater university program that is doing "Bye, Bye Birdie". They require you to send in a two song audition tape. She would make an awesome Kim and she would love to do that part!

Do you think she should sing a song from the show?

I would recommend not singing from the show.

No, try something from footloose, or even a popular 50's song. Or maybe a jukebox musical

No my theatre teacher said that was the one thing you should not do at an audition.

ahhh im auditioning for Kim also and i would love to not sing something from the show. my show is for school and we have 2 weeks until auditions so if anyone has any good suggestions im ALL EARS, im a belty mezzo-soprano

2. Please Mister Sandman
3. There are worse things I could do
4. cool rider(Grease 2, but a great song when taken out of context)
