Once on Queer Eye, the the straight guy had a nail biting problem as well so Kyan gave him some stuff to put on his finger nails (I beleive it was called No Bite) so that when he would bite it tasted awful.
I bit my nails for years. My friend than bet me I couldn't stop for one week. I proved her wrong and so she took me to get a manicure. They looked so nice after that, I didn't want to bite them and I haven't since.
"Noah, someday we'll talk again. But there's things we'll never say. That sorrow deep inside you. It inside me, too. And it never go away. You be okay. You'll learn how to lose things..."
My cousin had this problem... She used the stuff that StraightToHeaven mentioned, you can get it at almost any drugstore. Good Luck!, this is another tough habit to break. B
"All I ask of you is one thing: please don't be cynical. I hate cynicism -- it's my least favorite quality and it doesn't lead anywhere. Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen."

I used to have this problem too, but now I have beautiful nails.... get a manicure (and try to keep up with it weekly) -- you won't want to bite something you just paid $10 for!

i tried that one nailpolish stuff, but got used to the flavor (it was sour apple or something) and i bit that off too. i haven't bitten 'em in a week...but still...i'm a little nervous.
I broke the biting habit but STILL can't have pretty nails. They only grow so long, then break or rip off when I wash my hair or do house work.
I was going to get tips put on but heard how they have to grind your real nail down so they are paper thin. I didn't want to mess with it.
I still had to ask about them when I went for a manicure this past Saturday and found I couldn't have them even if I had decided to go with them so I made the right choice!
tips are fine for a couple of times, but after...say...10 of them, your nails are a wreck. i did them once and my nails are fine (they're not that pretty anyway, but...), but i know a lady who always has them done, and her nails are GROSS. ew.
A friend of mine paints her nails to keep herself from biting, not because of the taste, but because she can't stand walking around with chipped nail polish.
