You know, I made fun of the promos. I laughed at the premise. And, God help me, I friggin loved the show. I did. It was very well written and acted. But the REAL genius of it was the editting and directing. The pace was so electric that I actually felt my heart beating faster during the interrogation scene and several others. Fantastic crescendo that delivered every time. What the hell? Shows with this kind of premise and pretentious titles like "Blind Justice" are NOT supposed to be this good!
Reviews for the show have been middling (getting B's and C's), with the exception of USAToday who liked it. Their main complaint was that they have a hard time believing that the writers can carry the principal conceit of the "blind cop whose coworkers don't believe in him" through an entire series. Of course, when I read that, I remembered that I thought the same thing about Desperate Housewives before I got hooked on that, too.
Bottom line: much to my chagrin, this show was fantastic. I'll definitely tune in next week.
Yeesh, after this surprise I might actually tune in for Jake in Progress.

I didn't get to see it, but hopefully I will sometime. I'm just having a hard time believing that a blind man could do all of that, solve crimes and stuff. Does it work?

It worked beautifully in the first episode.
That was one of the main criticisms from the reviews. They said they wondered how long the writers could keep coming up with new ways for their lead character to solve crimes using his sense of smell and touch. Frankly, I found their view to be ridiculouslly prejudiced and short-sighted, tasteful pun intended. I thought it was weird that they were reviewing it not for what it was but for what they thought it was going to become.
Ah well. Great show. Got my blood pumping and made me happy that good tv is becoming popular again. I know that reality tv will never go away, but I just wish it would go dormant for awhile.
I wouldn't say that I loved it, but I'll be tuning in for another few weeks to make up my mind. I liked the premise, and I liked the actor playing the blind detective (names are totally out of my head right now because I'm watching House in the background). I think it has the potential to be really corny and predictable ("What color are your eyes?" "I'll see you around." *walking away*--everyone in th living room muttered, "They're brown." right before she said it
) but for now, I like what I'm seeing.

I agree. The potentiality for corniness is huge. I hope they have good writers.
And I hope Rena Sofer stays around. Yummy.

I didn't watch it because there is no basis for reality. In this day and age police departments bounce officers off the force for lesser disabilities. It just doesn't happen.
And I was turned off by the fact that it seemed a rip off of the old series Longstreet. Yes, I'm dating myself.
i can only handle one crime drama per season... this season it's "Medium"...

I definitely liked it.
I think that the lead actor should do some research on blind people, however, because he did not convince me that he was blind.
Just staring at a person's chest when you should be looking at their eyes does not make you look blind.
