... just ordered Baron Munchausen on Blu-Ray - can't wait!
Hey! My post "disappeared," but I can see it when I reply. Weird.
Anyway... here's what I posted earlier today. And I hope you like the Baron BD, Craig! That's one I worked on.

The format war caused prices to be slashed drastically. It was all about "winning" and not making a profit.
Now that the format war is over, it's about making a profit again.
But I doubt consumers will embrace it much at all, if the prices continue to go up.
Consider this price spike an experiment, instead of status quo. If the people buy, the prices will continue to stay up. If nobody is buying, they will drop again.
BTW, in case you haven't noticed, standard def DVD prices have gone up almost by 3-5 bucks for new releases over the past year. It's not just BD.

Terry Gilliam's BARON MUNCHAUSEN is one of my favorite movies. Best, did they do a big old restoration, extras, etc.? I still have my old Criterion Collection laserdisc, I can't bring myself to let it go.
Here is a detailed review of the dvd Roscoe:

Thank you taz. I don't have a BluRay player yet, I'm waiting for prices to drop. But BARON M. will be one of the first discs I get.

Univeral announced a bunch of titles going blu-ray (their first official announcement) - including HEROES Season 2!
I just bought a Blu-ray player a little bit ago. I absolutely love it! I watched No Country For Old Men on it last night and was amazed by the clarity.
