This popped up on my facebook news feed today, and it looks like a great event for a great cause. It's this Saturday, the 10th, from noon to 6 PM at the LGBT Community Center on 13th street.
Thanks to a generous donation from the now-closed Skyline Books, New Alternatives will be selling more than 20,000 books, valued at over $75,000. This includes new books, rare books and a ton of hidden gems!
All proceeds of the sale will go to New Alternatives (www.newalternativesnyc.org) and will support our mission of enabling LGBT homeless youth to “go beyond” the shelter system and transition into stable adult lives.
Our pricing is simple, provide bag(s), fill with books and give us $10 for each bag.

When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain.
