Not to dreail this, but I was in a production of Hair that was directed by the author of that book, Spiderj82.
Jeffry Denman follows his year with The Producers beginning with his audition. I had a hard time putting it down.

One of my favorite Broadway books has to be "A Chorus Line and The Musicals of Michael Bennett" by Ken Mandelbaum.
