The West Village has changed so much over the past 20 years. It is too bad the present residents don't acknowledge or are even aware of the neighborhood's history.
Damn, if they knew went went on in those upscale eatery kitchens in the Meat packing district it would make their toes curl!

My own toes curled inside some of those places that are now fancy eateries!
When the next crash comes, there will be plenty of creative spaces popping up. Unfortunately, a lot of people will be starving and stuff but the edge will be back.
