Wendy - I totally understand that one. Selection is a hard thing to keep up with.

I spent some time with Quentin Crisp when he released his last book Resident Alien, and as we sat in Barnes and Noble just past the cafe area he smiled at me, and said "I see you have the same sort of problem here as do many of the newer bookshops..."
I asked "What is that?"

He pointed over toward the cafe and replied "Crumbs in the books."

It was priceless, and something I will never forget.

The little family-owned bookstore in my town went out of business when they built our Borders. re: Borders and Hell
