This is what passes for journalism these days.

"He recalls "walking through the West Wing and Secretary Clinton drops by to see the president. To be in the hallway when the president walks by with a handful of M&Ms, popping them in his mouth as he goes to visit his chief of staff -- it was unbelievable."

It should come as no shock to him. He's been in the White House before, he's met Hillary Clinton before, he's met Obama before. What's so unbelievable?

You answered your own question, Reg.

And of course, Goth helpfully demonstrated with his oatmeal, McDonald's and pretzel points that this sort of journalism is not just a product of "these days." But apparently, the oatmeal revelation was the kissing of Bush the First's ass, the McDonald's coverage (though mostly used to mock the man they called "Bubba" for being low class) was done to kiss Clinton's ample butt, and so on and so forth.

There, that's all clear now!

Have you thought that perhaps he was documenting it for the reader. You know - to relate his experience to the person reading the words? To bring the reader in as close as he could to pointing out just how "normal" and "regular" the president can be?
