WEll, isn't that good.
Excerpt
America is now seen as a threat to world peace by its closest neighbours and allies, according to an international survey of public opinion published today that reveals just how far the country's reputation has fallen among former supporters since the invasion of Iraq.
Carried out as US voters prepare to go to the polls next week in an election dominated by the war, the research also shows that British voters see George Bush as a greater danger to world peace than either the North Korean leader, Kim Jong-il, or the Iranian president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Both countries were once cited by the US president as part of an "axis of evil", but it is Mr Bush who now alarms voters in countries with traditionally strong links to the US.

"because world domination and expanding empires are crowd pleasers."
Dominate or be dominated. You won't be able to say these things when you are a citizen of the United States of Iran.

Gothampc - The US and Brittan made Iran what is it today. You can ask any Iranian about their feelings of prior US "assistance" a real big help. They just love the cool fascist regime we put in place.
LOL the US spreading freedom? We can't even spread it here.

I know! Surprising, isn't it? I mean, nothing has changed since WWII, so what's up with that?
"Dominate or be dominated. You won't be able to say these things when you are a citizen of the United States of Iran."
Careful gotham. Christopher Guest will totally use that in his next film.

"The US and Brittan made Iran what is it today."
Actually it was Jimmy Carter who made Iran what it is today. Before him, the U.S. had good relations with the Shah of Iran. Then militant Islam took over, took Americans hostage and all Carter did was sit around and watch it happen.

Gothampc - You need to get your facts straight. Back in 1953 President Eisenhower engaged the CIA (along with the Brits) in a coup to overthrow the Iranian democracy with a US friendly monarch. All for what? Oil! Just follow the downward spiral in the Iranian government ever since.
The same thing has happened in many other countries. Bush is doing the same with Iraq. We like having governments we can manipulate for resources. Just follow the money. Look it up, educate yourself.

Thanks mejusthavinfun for pointing out that Ike propped up a monarch over there as "client ruler". Now, I personally don't give a rat's azz what the Brits think of my Prez or US foreign policy on the other hand given their government's track record in both "partitioning", e.g. Pakistan/India and nation-building, e.g. Mosul/Baghdad/Basra (now Iraq). Less anyone forget the French took control of Syria & Lebanon as part of the same deal that landed the Crown in a fledgling thrown together Iraq. The same French latter dumped an unwinnable war (Vietnam) into our laps. I've had it up to here with USA-bashing.

It was called Operation Ajax and guess what? It was the British who planned it and first proposed it to Truman. Eisenhower accepted the plan because he was concerned about the Communist Iranian Prime Minister. Yes, they wanted a US friendly monarch, but it was to fight off Communism.

Javero - I agree with you, it is very hypocritical of Brittan. That said the US is the world super power. It's 2006 and we have enough power to unilaterally wage a massive war under false pretences and garner global support. These games are getting really tired. Especially as we watch the short-lived prosperity in this country implode.
I'd prefer to hear what the real victims of this global hegemony have to say. There is no good reason we need to be so dependant on foreign oil. There is no reason to outsource labor jobs to slave camps in China and Honduras. The US should lead the world in the right direction, not this greedy, fascist, totalitarian way.
Gotham mentions that we dominate or be dominated. As the cliché goes, “with great power comes great responsibility.” Sure it’s a slippery slope, but shameless profiteering by a handful of crooks is not helping any citizen in this country or anywhere else. I wish we knew how many worldwide terrorist organization the government was funding right now. There are sure are plenty, enough to keep wars and unrest raging for years to come.
George Bush took a sh!t on his very own country after Katrina. I thought that would rally the people here, but it didn’t. I love this country but I don’t want to force any other country in the world to.

Gotham - So that means we made it better there? It wasn't really about oil was it? We were trying help the people. Just like in Iraq? BTW, that is not the reason Eisenhower gave the go-ahead. Are you crazy? You think we’re not as guilty as Brittan? It was all about OIL!
This is the same reason we overthrew (or tried) places like Hawaii, Guatemala, Venezuela, Colombia, Iraq, Panama, Nicaragua, Mexico, Zaire, and many many more. It’s all about resources, power and control.
Oh and "Terrorism" is the new communism if you haven't guessed! Keep up the good work Tool!

Also George Bush is probably the greatest threat to world peace right now. He is also the greatest possibility for world peace. I don’t think he cares either way.

I think if anything bad happens in anyones life blame it on old GWB. Whether it is your dog peeing on the carpet or the Sunday paper not being delivered. Have to have root canal, it is his fault. I guess he masterminded all the terrorists acts before he got in. He is one sly devil isn't he
Whatever will happen when he leaves office?
