Broadway Stars On Naked City

On Monday mornings ME TV is showing episodes of Naked City.

Have seen Maureen Stapleton and a young Barbara Harris. Thrown in to the mix was George C Scott. I forgot how great the writing was on this series.

I saw two recent episodes tooo, though I gave up halfway through the Stapleton one, the grating voice she used was like Patty Duke in Valley of the Dolls. I loved the Barbara Barrie episode with the late night location shots of the Bethesda Fountain. I never saw "Naked City" before now, and it's just great for the glimpses of early-'60s New York City, in gloriously noir black and white.

I did forget the Barbara Barrie one.Too bad it is only on once a week

Another great N Y series was Johnny Stacatto with John Cassavetes. It lasted 1 season and is available onDVD for a very reasonable price.
