Does anybody know of anyone who has done this? Go to college during the day and then do a show every night?

Is it possible?

I don't know of anyone who's done it, but I think it's entirely possible.

sure why not? plenty of college students do shows at night (not necessarily Broadway.) If it's possible to attend college full time and do straight sixes, i would imagine that doing a show (on Broadway) wouldn't be too too difficult...unless you suck at time management.

I'm pretty sure Mayumi Ando from the cast of RENT got a degree (in Sociology, I believe) at Columbia while perfoming in the show.

the reason it may not be possible is that many schools will not allow you to be in a broadway show while you're pursuing your degree. for example, if you are going for your BFA in MT (you're allowed to do b'way if you're only going for your BA) from marymount manhattan, they will not allow you to do both. there are several others that do the same, one being NYU..

Broadway shows also rehearse during the day so it's almost impossible. It has been done though. But I think mostly they have to drop out for a semester or year or something.

You COULD do it at Fordham IF you really wanted to, but not if you're a theatre major. It would really hard, anyway. There was a girl who started in '03 with me who was already IN Mamma Mia so there wasn't much the school could do about it, but I think she eventually left school because it was too much stress with rehearsals and all.
