right next to Passsion of the Christ, how quaint.
I haven't seen that cover art for BROKEBACK in stores, only on amazon and on commercials.
I got a copy almost a month ago, and the cover art I have is the same as all the cover art I've seen for sale here in NYC...I wonder why there's a difference. Strange.

at my Wal-Mart they had the display feature of Brokeback Mountain back-to-back with the feature of Narnia.
Though I doubt this was as strategic as the placement of The Passion in the first post, considering they both came out on Tuesday.
That's the cover for the full screen DVD of the film.
Jesus is cheaper than than gay sex?
Well on amazon both the fullscreen and widescreen have that art. In stores, both versions have the art that I have. Weird.
Amazon has the habit of using the same picture for multiple "models." That's probably all it is.
I'll let you know. My order should be delivered today from them, I think I got Widescreen, though.
At Virgin, the one in the picture was full screen. I know because I went to grab it thinking it was a 2 disc version and one of the girls working there told me it was just the full screen.
I am a little surprised that Wal Mart is selling it at all actually.
Evil, evil corporation.

Patronus, I was surprised too. There's two huge displays in the Wal-Mart here (I live in a dinky town in Western/Southern IL), and surprisingly (this town is full of Christian Republicans), most of the DVD's were gone by the time I went back there later in the day.
I got my copy from Amazon today.
It's the Widescreen version. Same exact photo for the cover minus the gray border around the top and sides so the photo if "full."
There's a band across the top saying Four-Star Collection Focus Features but the only reference to the Oscars is below the title, where, in small print, it says, "Directed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Ang Lee." It mentions screenplay by: but does not mention any oscars on the front or back.
My guess is that this edition went to print sometime before the Oscars and they rushed those covers on display at Wal-Mart for retail sale.
That's the one I have, too. I like it better.
I don't even care about the cover. I just want the movie, and my mom refuses to buy it for me. I hate not having a car, or license.
Heath and Jesus are in the same pose.
Your Mom refused to buy it for you? Why?
