"Brokeback" re-enters top ten with highest B.O. per screen

Yep, partners, time for your update.

Still in fewer than 500 theaters, BROKEBACK is back in 8th place this weekend, with 5.7 million, 22.4 total, and more tellingly, the highest per screen figure in the top thirty movies, almost 12 thousand per screen.

Even cynical naysayers must admit: this is turning into a cultural phenom, one that can't be dismissed or even kept from its audience by freedom-lovin' Utah Mormons.

It ended up in 9th position, but its numbers remained the same. Will it have peaked? Possibly. But awards season brings new audiences. The Golden Globes are a week from tomorrow.
